history
I have always been passionate about finding solutions to climate change. I completed my Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science but it was such a broad range - from conservation to adaptation to mitigation both in land and water. It was quite overwhelming. Then during the pandemic, a Netflix documentary called Down to Earth by Zac Efron introduced me to a company located in Iceland where they are able to capture the Carbon Dioxide in the air/atmosphere and store it back to the ground. That was my first exposure to Carbon Dioxide Removal.
As I first navigated in this very new and developing industry, I had a difficult time gathering information. And when I was able to find information, articles, and courses, I quickly became overwhelmed due to the different methodologies, the technical language, and the nature of the carbon market. As I stumbled upon any resources that I found helpful, I wrote them down and kept them in one place to ensure I won’t lose them. I kept learning, searching, attending conferences and webinars, it was quite fun! And then I thought, why not share these resources to others too?
So, erthe et al was created.
“erthe” - came from Middle English in which the word “Earth” originated from (https://www.etymonline.com/word/earth)
“et al” - from the merriam webster dictionary comes from the Latin phrase meaning “and others.” It is usually styled with a period, but you will occasionally see et al as well. (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/et%20al.) It is typically used in articles to portray other authors. Therefore, et al is included in the name since the resources I have gathered and placed in this website, was created by others.
Also, I have also interpreted erthe et al as “earth and all its constituents”.
erthe et al established on March 20, 2026.
